LAS VEGAS - During a speech in which he unleashed f-bomb after f-bomb, real estate mogul Donald Trump was straight and to the point on several issues, including oil prices.
"They want to go in and raise the price of oil, because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and said, ‘You're not going to raise that <expletive> price. You understand me,'" Trump asked.
Trump also addressed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"We go to Afghanistan. We go to Iraq. We build a school. We build a road. They blow up the school. We build another school, another road. They blow them up. We build again. In the meantime, we can't get a <expletive> school built in Brooklyn," he said.
Trump wasn't straightforward about whether he is going to run for president in 2012.
"If I run and if I win… you're going to be really pleasantly surprised. We're not talking long, believe me, before June," he said.
In front of a crowd of more than 600 people - most of them Republicans - Trump flirted with a presidential run. He criticized President Obama on everything from health care to gas prices to Libya.
Trump also took credit for forcing Obama to release his long-form birth certificate after months of speculation by some that the president was not born in the United States.
"I accomplished something that nobody else had accomplished, nobody," Trump said. "It was amazing."
Trump says the world views the United States as "stupid idiots" and says he'll restore our nation's credibility.
"We have the potential to have a great country again," he said. "I have to say again, we're not a great country now. We're not a great country. We love our country, but we're not a great country."
His speech, which came across to some as unscripted, received mixed reviews.
"It was a little extreme for a lot of the mainstream Republicans," said attendee Alicia Huffaker. "Just another entertainer, another entertainer."
"I thought he was great," said speech watcher Eunice Allen. "He was wonderful. I love him, and I'm going to vote for him."
Donald Trump referred to a few of his ideas as the "Trump Doctrine". He says he'll make his announcement about a potential presidential run by June 1. Trump is in Las Vegas for Steve Wynn's wedding.
