LAS VEGAS -- The Democrat with the best shot at winning a northern Nevada congressional district is a state officer who isn't reluctant to slam President Barack Obama.
State Treasurer Kate Marshall says Obama's health care law may be flawed, his deficit plan is weak and he needs to do more to create jobs.
Marshall has the support of Washington Democrats. The other well-known Democratic candidate, Nancy Price, could be a longshot.
She wants to emulate liberal anti-war activist Dennis Kucinich if she's elected. Price lost to Dean Heller last year, before Heller was appointed to the U.S. Senate.
This is the first time Nevada will hold an election to fill a vacant U.S. House seat. Democrats hope the crowded contest will yield their first victory in the Republican-leaning district.
