
Cantaloupe from Colorado has been implicated in more than a dozen deaths in several states from listeriosis. Deaths have been reported in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas this week. Last week, deaths were reported in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Maryland.
Nevada is not one of the states reporting a death at this time.
Federal officials are calling this the worst outbreak since a salmonella outbreak in peanuts caused nine deaths a decade ago.
