General Contest Rules

GENERAL CONTEST RULES

The following are basic contest rules applying to any and all contests run on KLAS-TV. Each contest may have its own special qualifications and eligibility rules in which case a separate list of rules will be available for public inspection.

1. All KLAS-TV contests are open to all viewers who are eighteen (18) years of age or older, unless stated otherwise. Contest winners must be a Nevada resident, unless stated otherwise. Employees of KLAS-TV and their participating sponsors, their advertising agencies or representatives, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, attorneys, contractors, vendors, assigns and their immediate families or persons residing in the same household, are ineligible to enter or participate. Participating sponsors will be prominently visible for each contest.

2. Viewers are eligible to win once per contest. Unless stated otherwise, multiple entries by the same person will be discarded and be deemed by the station management as a cause for disqualification.

3. All prizes may be picked up at KLAS-TV, 3228 Channel 8 Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89109. The winner will forfeit any prize not claimed within fourteen (14) days of winning. The fourteen (14) day period includes weekends and holidays. KLAS-TV business hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. KLAS-TV will not notify winners of time remaining on prizes to be picked up. It is the winner's responsibility to claim their prize within the time limit. Additionally,  some prizes have expiration dates or are date sensitive, which may occur within the fourteen (14) days following the winning date. It is the responsibility of the winner to pick up their prize by the event expiration date.

4. Prizes may not be mailed to winners. All prizes must be claimed by the winner only. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitutions will be allowed or prize will be forfeited.

5. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries.

6. KLAS-TV may, due to unavailability of prize awarded, substitute another prize for the approximate value (in dollars) of the original prize awarded. KLAS-TV is not responsible for replacing any prizes after they have been picked up, whether the prize is lost, organization providing the prize has closed, or for any other reason.

7. KLAS-TV is not responsible for any misdirected or wrongly addressed mail or email in regards to contests, including misdirected mail routings by the postal service, private delivery service or technical malfunctions of email systems or servers. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. In the event of a dropped call, telephone line or mobile phone malfunction or disconnection, the decision of station management will be final.

8. All entries must provide the required information or will be disqualified. KLAS-TV, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person for tampering with the entry process, the operation of the KLAS-TV website or is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any kind.

9. Contest winners will be required to fill out a winner's release prior to acceptance of any prize. Prizes over $50.00 will have their own set of rules. Contest winners will be required to fill out a 1099 form and are responsible for paying taxes on their winnings for any prize valued above $600.00 On a prize that includes transportation,  contest winners (and their travel companion, when applicable) must sign a release whether of not such transportation is provided by KLAS-TV. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold KLAS-TV, their participating sponsors, their advertising agencies or representatives, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, attorneys, contractors, vendors,  harmless against any and all  claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or content. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, fails to claim prize, fails to comply with all the rules, is unable to travel on the dates of prize or attend event on prize date or fails to respond to winner notification, the selected winner is disqualified and the prize or spot is forfeited.

10.  All contestant entries become the property of KLAS. KLAS may retain any and all contest materials for any reason that the station's management deems crucial to the completion of the contest, or for reasons relating to publicity and/or advertising without compensation unless prohibited by law.

KLAS has the right to make final decisions regarding contest winners and judging.
